Fronius Unveils New Battery to Power Energy Independence in Australia

In Australia, the Austrian solar technology company Fronius has completed its solar ecosystem with the launch of its new home battery solution. With its smooth connection with current Fronius PV systems, the Fronius Reserva seeks to improve small enterprises’ and homes’ energy resilience.

Fronius has strategically expanded its solar offering by introducing its new battery storage solution in Australia. Even during blackouts, homes and small businesses may store solar energy and run without relying on the power grid thanks to the Fronius Reserva.

Together with the company’s current hybrid inverters and monitoring tools, the new system is intended to create an integrated energy solution from a single supplier. Customers of Fronius in Australia were previously forced to depend on external storage solutions.

With two to five modules per tower, the DC-coupled, high-voltage battery has storage capacity ranging from 6.3 kWh to 15.8 kWh. A maximum of 63 kWh may be obtained by connecting up to four battery towers in tandem. Because of this, it may be used in a variety of settings, including residential residences and businesses with greater energy requirements. A floor-mounted, modular configuration guarantees a simple and quick installation.

The Fronius Primo GEN24 Plus, Symo GEN24 Plus, and the soon-to-be Verto Plus inverters are all compatible with the Reserva. It ensures continuous operation during outages by having black start capabilities and complete backup power. According to the corporation, this feature is especially important in places where grid connection is erratic or where energy security issues are becoming more prevalent.

According to Fronius, durability is a key component of all of their goods, and the Reserva is no different. The IP65-rated device is appropriate for Australia’s diverse environment, which ranges from humid beaches to drier interior regions, because it can tolerate temperatures between -20°C and +55°C.

Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells, which are devoid of cobalt and renowned for their long lifespan and thermal stability, are used in the Reserva battery for safety and sustainability. For further piece of mind, the business claims that the battery is covered by a 10-year warranty.

The system’s architecture incorporates data security as well. Under stringent GDPR compliance, user data is kept on European servers, subject to frequent audits and developer education.

One of the markets with the quickest rates of growth for residential solar and battery storage is still Australia. Fronius is presenting the Reserva as a locally supported solution that satisfies the rising need for robust, self-managed energy systems, as evidenced by the more than 3.7 GW of inverter power that has already been deployed countrywide.
