GameChange Solar has signed a contract with Hassan Allam Construction to supply its Genius Tracker™ solar tracking system for a 258 MWp solar project in Benban, Egypt. The project is being developed by Infinity Power, while Hassan Allam Construction will serve as the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor.
The tracker system to be delivered uses a 1R × 4 string architecture, designed to fit the project’s terrain and civil engineering needs. This order marks GameChange Solar’s fourth project in Egypt, bringing its total installed capacity in the country to more than 3 GWp.
Designed for Tough Conditions
The solar plant is part of the Benban Solar Park, which is one of the biggest solar parks in the area. The project site faces high temperatures and dusty conditions, typical of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. GameChange Solar said its selection was based on its previous project experience in Egypt, strong regional support network, and ability to meet fast delivery timelines.
Anirudha Sharma, Vice President – Business Development for India, MENA, and CIS at GameChange Solar, said, “The project represents an important milestone for the company’s regional growth strategy. We have expanded our on-ground capabilities across the MENA region, and this order raises our cumulative installed capacity in the region to approximately 6.7 GWp.”
Hybrid Energy and National Goals
The Benban project will combine 200 MW of solar generation with a 120 MWh battery energy storage system, creating a hybrid renewable energy facility to enhance grid reliability. This development also supports Egypt’s national energy transition targets, aiming for 42% renewable energy by 2030 and 65% by 2040.
Hany Fayed, Managing Director of Hassan Allam Constructions, said, “Large-scale projects such as Benban require careful coordination and disciplined execution across partners. We value partners capable of providing strong technical support and maintaining project timelines as construction progresses.”
