The Energy Solutions Business of Godrej Enterprises Group has secured an order to develop a 98 MWp (70 MW AC) open-access solar power plant in Sirsa, Haryana. The project marks the company’s largest solar project by capacity to date and is also the largest open-access solar installation in the state.
Turnkey Execution and Project Scope
The project has been awarded by Hexa Climate Solutions, led by Sanjeev Aggarwal and backed by I Squared Capital. Under the agreement, Godrej will undertake complete turnkey execution, including engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC).
Once it is up and running, the solar plant is expected to produce about 147 million kWh (1,470 lakh kWh) of clean energy each year. The open-access model will help industrial customers and encourage more businesses in the area to switch to renewable energy.
Advanced Technology Integration
The project will use bifacial TOPCon modules that are connected to string inverters and smart monitoring systems. The goal of these technologies is to improve the efficiency of generation and make sure that the plant runs at its best throughout its life cycle.
Environmental and Economic Impact
According to company estimates, the project will help reduce over 75,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually equivalent to planting nearly 3.5 million trees. In addition to environmental benefits, the initiative is expected to contribute to local employment generation and infrastructure development in the region.
The company also stated that it will collaborate with regional partners and actively engage local communities during project execution, while adhering to stringent environmental standards.
Leadership Commentary and Strategic Significance
Commenting on the development, Raghavendra Mirji, Executive Vice President and Business Head – Energy Solutions at Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “This project is a proud milestone for us and reinforces our role in India’s renewable energy transition. By developing Haryana’s largest open-access solar installation, we are furthering that legacy while helping industries move towards cleaner and more reliable energy.”
He added that the project will support local employment and strengthen regional infrastructure, aligning with India’s broader growth agenda.
Strengthening Renewable Energy Portfolio
This order makes Godrej Enterprises Group’s Energy Solutions Business even stronger in the renewable energy sector. The company has already installed about 98 MWp of solar panels in India, showing that it is becoming more important in the country’s clean energy sector.
The project also shows that the group wants to take on bigger renewable energy projects, which strengthens its position as a key partner for industries moving to more sustainable energy sources.
