Government, Industry Leaders from 40 Nations to Gather at Bharat Electricity,

As power systems across the world undergo rapid transformation driven by energy security, digitalisation, industrial policy and climate goals, India is increasingly becoming a key market shaping the future of electricity at scale. From September 1–3, 2026, government officials, policymakers and corporate leaders from 40 countries are set to gather at Yashobhoomi, IICC, New Delhi, for Bharat Electricity, POWERGEN India & Indian Utility Week 2026. The integrated event is expected to attract more than 15,000 industry professionals, 250+ exhibitors and over 200 policymakers, CEOs, regulators and energy experts, bringing together stakeholders from across the entire electricity value chain.

The 2026 edition is expected to see participation from senior representatives of the Ministry of Power, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Ministry of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Ministry of Coal and Ministry of MSME, alongside NITI Aayog, the Central Electricity Authority, Invest India and leading national institutions. At the state level, Delhi will participate as Host State, while Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal feature through dedicated leadership sessions focused on investment, generation growth, grid modernisation, utility transformation and clean-energy manufacturing.

Bhupinder Singh Bhalla, IAS (Retd.), Honorary Chairman, Bharat Electricity Council, and Former Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Government of India, said, “India is moving beyond being simply a large energy market. It is becoming a proving ground for the next generation of power systems. The significance of this gathering lies in bringing policy, capital, technology and execution capability together at one place, so that global expertise can translate into Indian projects, manufacturing and long-term strategic partnerships.”

A major highlight will be NuclearX 2026-The Global Nuclear Investment Forum, focused on unlocking global capital for India’s 100 GW nuclear vision. Its programme includes an inaugural forum on building the world’s next major civil nuclear market, a technology and innovation session on next-generation nuclear technologies, and a closed-door Executive Investment Roundtable on mobilising capital, technology and strategic partnerships.

The event will also host the Uttar Pradesh Energy Leadership Roundtable: Powering Growth, Industry & a Clean Energy Future, bringing together the State’s political and administrative leadership, UPPCL, UPRVUNL, UPPTCL, national institutions, financiers and leading private-sector energy companies around Uttar Pradesh’s next phase of power-sector and industrial expansion. Parallel Focus State sessions for Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Bihar and West Bengal will further create state-specific platforms for project pipelines, investment propositions, utility reform and clean-energy deployment.

The Exhibition will complement these leadership dialogues through a series of curated platforms, including Government-supported MSME and Start-up Pavilions, State Government Pavilions, a dedicated Energy Storage Pavilion, Technology and GreenTech showcases, international country pavilions and sectoral association pavilions, providing global and domestic companies with direct access to buyers, utilities, state agencies, investors and project developers.

International companies and delegations from across North America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific are expected to explore partnerships in transmission and grid technologies, storage, advanced generation, nuclear energy, smart metering, artificial intelligence, digital utilities, hydrogen, e-mobility and domestic manufacturing. The leadership ecosystem includes organisations such as NTPC, Power Finance Corporation, Grid Controller of India, SECI, Tata Power, Adani Green Energy, ReNew, CESC, BSES, EDF, GE Vernova, Schneider Electric, Toshiba, JSW Power Systems, Envision Energy, Indian Energy Exchange and Multi Commodity Exchange, among others.

Abhishek Bhatnagar, Director General, ENCIS, said, “The architecture of this edition is deliberately built around convergence. National policy, state execution, utility priorities, global technology, capital and manufacturing cannot operate in separate silos. NuclearX, the State Roundtables, specialised pavilions and the Strategic Summit are designed to bring these pieces together and convert participation into partnerships of consequence.”

Across three days, the programme will address India’s Power System Roadmap 2047, electricity-market reform, renewable curtailment, generation flexibility, digital transformation, India Energy Stack, storage, smart metering, green hydrogen, transmission resilience and future skills, alongside high-level fireside conversations and technical Knowledge Hub sessions. Guided by the theme “Shaping Energy Sovereignty • Building Climate Resilience • Powering Viksit Bharat,” the 2026 edition seeks to position India not merely as a destination for global energy investment, but as a co-creator of technologies, business models and institutional frameworks that can shape the next global energy order.

Bharat Electricity, POWERGEN India & Indian Utility Week form India’s flagship integrated leadership and business platform for the power and utilities sector. Hosted from 01–03 September 2026 at Yashobhoomi, IICC, New Delhi, the co-located events combine a Strategic Summit, international Exhibition, Knowledge Hub, State and Investment Roundtables, specialised pavilions and the Bharat Electricity Awards across the complete electricity value chain.

The Energy & Climate Initiatives Society (ENCIS) is an independent, non-partisan and not-for-profit strategic knowledge and policy institution advancing India’s energy sovereignty, energy transition, climate resilience and sustainable industrial growth.

Guided by distinguished former Secretaries to the Government of India, regulators and industry leaders, ENCIS operates at the intersection of policy, industry, technology, finance and international cooperation. Through evidence-led research, leadership councils, policy advocacy, strategic intelligence, global forums, trade facilitation and capacity building, ENCIS brings together government and industry to translate national ambition into executable pathways and measurable outcomes.
