    HyperStrong has introduced MagicBlock

HyperStrong, a prominent Chinese energy storage integrator, has introduced MagicBlock—a compact, AI-enabled utility-scale storage platform available in both AC- and DC-coupled formats.

Designed to support discharge durations ranging from two to eight hours, MagicBlock targets both flexibility markets and the growing need for long-duration energy storage. It’s compatible with a range of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) chemistries, including 314 Ah, 5XX Ah, and 6XX Ah cells.

Breaking away from traditional 20-foot container systems, HyperStrong has engineered MagicBlock into a more efficient 10-foot modular format. Each unit can deliver a maximum energy capacity of 3.2 MWh while weighing only 24 tons—making it suitable for transportation via land and sea. Customers have the flexibility to house the battery system and PCS together in one container or separately in dedicated 10-foot units.

The system’s modular design supports configurations of one, two, four, or eight units, offering customizable deployment for diverse use cases. A unique front-to-top airflow layout allows for seamless side-by-side and back-to-back installations, reducing land use and avoiding the heat island effect, while also lowering auxiliary power needs for cooling.

The MagicBlock platform incorporates AI-driven thermal and battery management systems for real-time state-of-health monitoring, predictive fault detection, and smart O&M optimization. This enhances energy efficiency, improves operational safety, and cuts down total ownership costs for utility customers.

For safety, MagicBlock features a four-level protection system across cells, modules, system controls, and fire suppression. It includes an early fire suppression system utilizing both dual-channel aerosol and water-based technologies to quickly contain thermal runaway incidents.

HyperStrong, which has already deployed over 25 GWh of storage projects worldwide, aims to bolster its competitiveness through the MagicBlock platform. The company’s in-house developed energy management systems and fully automated battery manufacturing lines play a key role in achieving this performance.

“The future of the grid is flexible, intelligent, and safe,” said HyperStrong in a statement. “MagicBlock is our answer to that future.”
