Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has expanded its electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem by enabling access to more than 30,000 charging points across India through its myHyundai mobile application. The integrated platform brings multiple charging networks together under a single digital interface, allowing EV users to locate and access charging infrastructure operated by various Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and service providers. The initiative is aimed at improving charging convenience and supporting wider EV adoption in the country.
According to HMIL, the integration creates one of India’s largest charging networks accessible through a single platform. The company said the service is available to EV users across brands, extending the benefits of the charging ecosystem beyond Hyundai vehicle owners.
“With charging infrastructure being a key catalyst for EV adoption in India, HMIL is committed to creating an ecosystem that makes electric mobility practical, convenient and accessible to all. Through the integration of over 30,000 charging points on the myHyundai app, we are empowering EV users with one of India’s largest charging networks accessible through a single platform,” said Tarun Garg, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Limited.
As part of its long-term EV strategy, Hyundai Motor India also plans to significantly expand its proprietary DC fast public charging network.
The company currently operates 183 charging stations and plans to increase this number to 600 stations by 2030, representing more than a threefold expansion. The planned infrastructure is intended to improve access to faster charging and support the growth of electric mobility in India.
For the battery and energy storage ecosystem, the expansion of fast-charging infrastructure highlights the growing need for reliable charging networks and high-power energy delivery as EV adoption accelerates. The availability of widespread charging infrastructure is expected to remain a key factor in addressing range concerns and encouraging consumers to transition from internal combustion engine vehicles to EVs.
HMIL said its charging initiatives have also contributed to reducing transport-related emissions. According to the company, the utilisation of its charging stations has helped avoid approximately 3.5 million kg of CO₂ emissions, supporting its efforts to reduce the carbon footprint associated with road transportation.
The automaker is also preparing to expand its presence in India’s mass-market EV segment. Hyundai plans to introduce a new electric SUV within the current financial year, as it seeks to strengthen its EV portfolio and cater to a broader customer base.
The combination of expanded charging access through the myHyundai app, a larger proprietary DC fast-charging network and new EV launches is expected to strengthen Hyundai’s position in India’s growing electric mobility market. The company said its efforts are focused on building a more accessible EV ecosystem while supporting the country’s transition towards cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
