Battery and clean energy stocks witnessed a sharp correction on July 25, 2025, with all tracked counters ending in the red. The session marked a stark reversal from the previous day’s mixed performance, as investor sentiment turned risk-averse amid global cues and pre-earnings jitters across the clean energy space.
Exide Industries led the losers with a drop of 2.71% to ₹380.6, followed closely by HBL Engineering Ltd., which fell 2.62% to ₹572.85, likely reflecting profit-booking after previous sessions’ resilience.
CLN Energy Ltd., Waaree Technologies, and High Energy Batteries each shed 1.99%, suggesting pressure on specialized battery stocks despite long-term optimism for India’s energy storage push.
Amara Raja Energy declined by 1.51%, while Tata Power fell 1.34%, both experiencing consolidation ahead of potential updates on large-scale grid and storage projects.
Even relatively defensive counters such as Panasonic Energy India, Eveready Industries, and Indo-National Ltd. couldn’t avoid the sell-off, ending down 1.87%, 0.96%, and 0.72% respectively.
Despite the dip, analysts maintain that battery-linked stocks are expected to bounce back in the medium term as government incentives, rising EV demand, and localization of battery manufacturing continue to strengthen fundamentals.
