Inox Solar Launches 1.2 GW Bavla Plant, Plans 3 GW Capacity Expansion

Inox Solar Limited, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary company of Inox Clean Energy Limited, declared that its new solar module manufacturing facility has started operations at Bavla, Ahmedabad.

This high-tech plant has begun operation with a preliminary capacity of 1.2 GW that is in a planned 3 GW plant.

“The fully automated plant, equipped with cutting-edge technology, produces the most advanced N-type TOPCon solar modules using M10, G12R, and G12 solar cells. This globally recognized module technology represents the latest in solar manufacturing, offering higher efficiency, lower degradation, and superior reliability, making them the benchmark for modern solar installations. The bifacial modules also enable dual-sided power generation, enhancing the capacity utilization factor (CUF) and overall productivity,” the company stated.

Inox Solar had also added that its Bavla plant will reach its full capacity of 3 GW in the second phase. Meanwhile, the company is developing a 4.8 GW integrated manufacturing facility of solar cells and modules in Dhenkanal, Odisha. The group of projects will help India build its domestic solar manufacturing supply chain, decrease reliance on imports, and improve the Indian role in the global renewable energy supply chains.

Devansh Jain, Executive Director, INOXGFL Group, said, “The first phase completion of our Bavla facility has been achieved within four months’ time. This milestone is not just about expanding capacity—it’s about India taking one more giant leap towards energy independence. With the current deficit in domestic solar cell manufacturing capacity, large conglomerates such as INOXGFL with integrated offerings are primed to benefit from the large-scale opportunities that the sector beholds.”

Bharat Saxena, CEO and Whole-time Director, Inox Clean Energy, added, “Inox Solar is expanding its capacities, offering advanced technology solar modules and is fully aligned with the nation’s ambition of self-reliance and sustainability in power generation. The commissioning of the first phase reinforces INOXGFL Group’s credentials and strengthens our leadership in the renewables space.”
