Inox Wind Limited (IWL) has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Inox Clean Energy for the supply of 1,500 MW of wind turbine generators to support the development of renewable energy projects across India.
Under the agreement, Inox Wind will supply its latest generation 3.3 MW and 4X MW wind turbine generators for projects being developed by Inox Clean Energy, the INOXGFL Group’s independent power producer (IPP) platform and solar manufacturing arm. The turbines will be deployed across multiple project sites and are expected to play a key role in expanding the group’s renewable energy capacity.
The partnership is designed to strengthen collaboration within the INOXGFL Group and create operational synergies across its renewable energy businesses. For Inox Wind, the agreement provides a substantial order pipeline, enhancing revenue visibility and reducing exposure to fluctuations in the broader market.
Strengthening the ‘One Integrated’ Renewable Energy Platform
The MoU aligns with the INOXGFL Group’s recently unveiled “One Integrated” renewable energy strategy, which aims to build a fully integrated clean energy ecosystem spanning manufacturing, project development, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and operations and maintenance services.
The strategy brings together the capabilities of Inox Wind, Inox Green Energy Services, Inox Renewable Solutions (IRSL), and Inox Clean Energy under a unified framework. Through this integrated approach, the group intends to improve project execution, optimize costs, create recurring revenue streams, and strengthen its position across the renewable energy value chain.
According to the companies, the agreement marks another step toward building a self-sustaining renewable energy platform capable of supporting large-scale capacity additions in the coming years.
Inox Clean Energy Targets Rapid Capacity Expansion
Inox Clean Energy has emerged as one of India’s fastest-growing renewable energy developers. Since commencing operations, the company has built an operational renewable energy portfolio of approximately 3.5 GW within just two years.
Looking ahead, the company plans to add more than 3 GW of renewable energy capacity annually and has set a target of reaching an operational portfolio of 14 GW by FY29. Wind energy is expected to contribute around 20–30% of these annual capacity additions, creating a steady demand pipeline for Inox Wind’s turbine manufacturing business.
The agreement is expected to provide long-term business visibility for Inox Wind while supporting Inox Clean Energy’s ambitious growth plans.
The announcement follows Inox Clean Energy’s recent acquisition of Vena Energy India’s 6 GW renewable energy portfolio. The deal represented the company’s tenth strategic acquisition in the past ten months, highlighting its aggressive expansion strategy and commitment to scaling its renewable energy footprint.
The broader INOXGFL Group has announced investment commitments exceeding ₹50,000 crore across renewable energy generation and solar manufacturing businesses in India, the United States, and Africa, underscoring its long-term focus on clean energy growth and energy transition opportunities.
