JSW MG Motor India Launches MG Hector Tomahawk

JSW MG Motor India has launched the new MG Hector Tomahawk in both electric vehicle (EV) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) versions, expanding its presence in India’s growing electrified SUV market. The models are built on the company’s newly developed Advanced Drive Architecture Platform Technology (ADAPT).

The Hector Tomahawk EV is priced from ₹13.99 lakh under the introductory Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, along with a battery rental of ₹4.90 per km. Under the full-ownership option, the EV is priced at ₹19.49 lakh (ex-showroom). It features a 69.2 kWh MAGIC Battery, offering a claimed range of 517 km on a single charge. The electric SUV produces 150 kW of power and 310 Nm of torque and supports DC fast charging of up to 90 kW.

The PHEV version starts at ₹21.79 lakh under the introductory BaaS programme, with a battery rental of ₹3.20 per km. Its full-ownership price starts at ₹25.69 lakh (ex-showroom). The PHEV combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a 148 kW electric motor and Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT). Its 20.5 kWh battery is claimed to provide more than 115 km of pure-electric driving range, while 0-100 km/h acceleration takes around nine seconds.

The PHEV’s Intelligent Energy Management System offers four driving modes: Pure Electric Drive, Series Hybrid Drive, Parallel Hybrid Drive and Engine Direct Drive. This system allows the vehicle to switch between different power sources depending on driving conditions and energy requirements.

Both models measure 4,745 mm in length, 1,850 mm in width and 1,770 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,810 mm. The SUVs feature a 15.6-inch HD display, Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and i-SMART 3.0 technology. Ground clearance is rated at 230 mm, while boot capacity stands at 610 litres.

The Hector Tomahawk models will be offered in seven signature colours, including two dual-tone options. JSW MG Motor India is also offering an Assured Buy Back Program and a lifetime battery warranty for the first owner of both the EV and PHEV variants.

Another key highlight is the company’s claimed Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) capability, which allows the EV to function as a mobile power source for a household. With the launch, JSW MG Motor India is offering customers two electrified powertrain choices in the Hector Tomahawk, combining fully electric mobility with plug-in hybrid technology.
