Kalpataru Projects International Limited (KPIL) has secured new orders and a letter of comfort worth approximately ₹2,031 crore in its power transmission and distribution (T&D) business across India and international markets. Additionally, its Swedish subsidiary, Linjemontage i Grästorp AB, has won an order worth approximately ₹194 crore, taking the combined value of the latest order wins to around ₹2,225 crore.
The company said its cumulative order inflows for the current financial year, FY2027, had reached approximately ₹20,000 crore, marking year-on-year growth of more than 30%. Manish Mohnot, Managing Director and CEO of KPIL, attributed the momentum to customer confidence in the company’s execution capabilities and growing investment in transmission infrastructure, grid expansion and renewable energy integration.
Swedish Subsidiary Wins 130 kV Substation Project
Linjemontage has secured a contract worth approximately SEK 200 million, equivalent to around ₹194 crore, from Swedish electricity network operator Ellevio AB. Awarded through a public procurement process, the project involves refurbishing and expanding an existing 130-kilovolt (kV) substation in Repbäcken, Borlänge, Sweden.
The project is intended to increase electricity-grid capacity and redundancy. Its scope includes constructing a new 130 kV substation within the expanded site and connecting it to the existing facility, which is expected to remain operational during construction.
The turnkey contract covers foundations and civil works, a control building, control equipment, assembly, installation, testing and commissioning. Ellevio also plans to connect four new overhead lines and a new 400 kV bay to the Swedish transmission grid operated by Svenska kraftnät at a later stage.
Work is expected to begin following contract signing, with final inspection scheduled for 15 October 2029.
Grid Investment Supports Order Momentum
The latest order wins add to KPIL’s business across domestic and overseas markets. The company provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services in power transmission and distribution, buildings and factories, water and irrigation, railways, oil and gas pipelines, urban mobility, highways and airports.
As renewable energy deployment increases, transmission networks are needed to connect new generation capacity to the grid and support reliable electricity delivery. Investment in grid expansion and modernisation is therefore creating opportunities for infrastructure contractors.
With order inflows of approximately ₹20,000 crore so far in FY2027, Kalpataru Projects has reported growth of more than 30% compared with the corresponding period of the previous year. The latest announcement reinforces the contribution of its T&D business and international operations to its order pipeline.
