KP Group has appointed Devanand Garud as Chief Procurement Officer (CPO), where he will lead strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives aligned with the group’s KP 3.0 vision. His responsibilities will include strengthening supply chain capabilities to support the group’s growing operations across renewable energy generation, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), and battery energy storage systems (BESS).
The appointment comes as KP Group advances its long-term expansion strategy under KP 3.0. The group has set targets for FY32 of 10 GWp of owned power generation capacity, 10 GWp of third-party EPC business and 10 GWh of battery energy storage capacity. Achieving these ambitions will require coordinated procurement, supplier management and timely delivery of equipment across multiple business segments.
Garud brings experience in commercial management, procurement and contracts across the renewable energy sector. Before joining KP Group, he served as Head – Commercial, Renewable Energy at JSW Energy Ltd, where he oversaw procurement and contracts for wind, solar, BESS and green hydrogen projects.
His experience across these technologies is relevant to the increasingly diversified requirements of renewable energy developers. As projects combine renewable generation with energy storage and other emerging technologies, procurement teams must manage equipment availability, contractual obligations, supplier performance and project delivery schedules.
Garud has also held procurement and contracts leadership positions at CleanMax and Suzlon Group. His professional experience further includes roles at Marvel Realtors, ENERCON, Essar Power, Reliance Industries Limited and KEC International Ltd.
At KP Group, Devanand Garud mandate will centre on strengthening procurement processes and supply chain execution to support the group’s expanding project portfolio. Strategic sourcing and effective contract management can play an important role in controlling costs, managing supply risks and ensuring that essential equipment reaches project sites according to implementation schedules.
The appointment reflects the growing importance of procurement leadership as renewable energy companies scale their operations across generation, EPC and storage. For KP Group, strengthening this function will be an important part of supporting its KP 3.0 growth ambitions and the development of its integrated clean energy businesses.
