KP Group has declared an historic strategic alliance with the AHES Co. Ltd. of South Korea and GH2 Solar Ltd. of India to set up a 100-metric-ton-per-annum (TPA) plant in India to produce green ammonia.
The plant will be built and run by KPI Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Pvt. Ltd. (KPI GH), a KP Group company, and supported with technical and strategic consultancy by AHES and GH2 Solar, who will also arrange the offtake agreements. It is also targeting markets in South Korea, Japan, and other international destinations, with AHES being one of the direct offtakers.
The production unit will use KP’s renewable energy infrastructure, including KPI Green Energy Ltd., K.P. Energy Ltd., and KP Green Engineering Ltd., to provide a sustainable, low-carbon feedstock. Having accumulated more than 3 decades of experience in the renewable industry and with 1.9 GW of current installed capacity and 3.9 GW of development in the pipeline, KP Group is looking to strengthen its leadership in clean energy transition.
The agreement spans 15 years, with pricing indexed to international ammonia benchmarks. Dr. Faruk Patel, Chairman & Managing Director of KP Group, said, “This partnership exemplifies KP Group’s vision to lead clean energy innovation in India and abroad. With KPI GH operating the facility and strategic support from AHES and GH2, we are setting new benchmarks in green ammonia production and international collaboration.”
AHES brings global expertise in electrolyzers, hydrogen storage, and power-to-gas solutions, while GH2 Solar contributes Indian execution strength in solar, green hydrogen, and electrolyzer technologies.
This project aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, supporting decarbonization goals and positioning KP Group at the forefront of India’s renewable energy transition.
