KP Group Signs ₹8,000 Cr MoU to Build Hydrogen & EV Fuel Stations Across Gujarat

KP Group, a Gujarat-based large-scale renewable energy and infrastructure company, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Energy and Petrochemicals Department, Government of Gujarat, to establish a statewide network of Hydrogen and Electric Vehicle (EV) fuel stations. It was announced at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference 2025, in Ganpat University, Mehsana.

On 9 October 2025, the MoU was formally signed in the presence of the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendrabhai Patel. The KP Group will spend ₹8,000 crore on this project, which is bound to generate approximately 1,000 jobs and also enhance the use of low-carbon/sustainable transportation in the state.

The Government of Gujarat will also assist KP Group in acquiring the necessary permissions, registrations and clearances to facilitate efficient execution across several districts on time. This project will encourage both the government and industry to switch to using clean fuel alternatives and expand both the transport services and industries to support the state of Gujarat as the clean energy and e-mobility model.

Dr. Faruk G. Patel, Founding Promoter of KP Group, stated, “The collaboration aims to create a robust, future-ready refueling ecosystem, positioning Gujarat as a frontrunner in sustainable infrastructure development.”

KP Group is a firm with a history of over 30 years in the implementation of wind and solar energy projects on a massive scale, and even currently, it is a major figure in the development of green energy in India, having been started in 1994 by Dr. Patel.
