Magdalena Granö, M.Sc., MBA, has been appointed as the new CEO of Wärtsilä Finland Oy as of 1 May 2026. Granö will also continue in her current role as Head of Project Delivery in Wärtsilä Marine.
Hannu Mäntymaa, the current CEO of Wärtsilä Finland Oy and Head of Marine Optimization Services, will move to the position of Global Sales Director, Marine. In this position, he will report to Roger Holm, Head of Marine and member of the Wärtsilä Executive Board.
Magdalena Granö has held several supply chain and customer delivery management positions at Wärtsilä since 2013. Prior to this, Granö worked for Nokia, IKEA and Vacon (now Danfoss) in specialist and management positions in procurement and logistics, among others.
“We are living in a truly exciting time. Wärtsilä has a strong market position and a solid foundation for sustainable growth. Over the past eight years, Wärtsilä has invested over EUR 400 million in Vaasa, including the EUR 140 million investment announced in February in capacity expansion and the global supply chain. We are now focused on successfully implementing these investments and delivering on our commitments to customers and shareholders,” says Magdalena Granö.
“This is a natural moment to pass on the baton of Wärtsilä Finland’s CEO, and I wish Magdalena all the best in her new role. The last five and a half years have been the most exciting time of my career at Wärtsilä; as a company, we have been advancing our strategy of transitioning the shipping and energy sectors to low-carbon and zero-carbon. At the same time, we have grown in Finland and especially in Vaasa, where we have recruited around 600 employees in the last five years,” says Hannu Mäntymaa.
