Marstek Launches ‘Venus B’ Plug-In Battery Storage System for Small Solar Setups

Marstek has introduced its latest plug-in energy storage solution, the Venus B, designed to integrate seamlessly with small photovoltaic (PV) systems and support cost optimization through dynamic electricity tariffs.

The Venus B is a compact energy storage device that can be connected directly via a standard Schuko socket, eliminating the need for complex installation or modifications. The system is specifically aimed at residential users with plug-in solar systems, offering a simplified approach to energy storage and consumption management.

According to the company, the device can be installed without altering existing plug-in PV systems and is compatible with a wide range of solar setups.

Technical Specifications and Performance

The storage system offers a usable capacity of 2 kWh and comes equipped with an integrated inverter. It supports a maximum grid charging power of 1.5 kW and can deliver output power of either 800 W or up to 1.5 kW, depending on usage requirements.

The Venus B can take in extra solar energy from plug-in PV systems that are connected to the same circuit. Also, it lets users charge the battery with electricity when prices are low and discharge it when prices are high, which helps keep energy costs down. But, as was said, the system’s round-trip efficiency may affect the total savings.

Advanced Battery Technology

Lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells are used in the system because they are safe and last a long time. Marstek says that the battery can be charged about 6,000 times and still have 80% of its capacity left after that. The battery works with a 90% depth of discharge, which makes it possible to use energy more efficiently.

Supporting Smarter Energy Use

With increasing adoption of distributed solar systems and dynamic pricing models, products like the Venus B aim to provide users with greater control over their energy consumption. By combining ease of installation with flexible charging and discharging capabilities, the system addresses both convenience and cost-efficiency.

The launch shows that Marstek is focused on making storage solutions that are easy to use and work well with changing energy needs, especially for residential and small-scale solar applications.
