Mercedes-Benz Launches Electric GLC with Cutting-Edge Technology

Mercedes-Benz presents its most important electric model to date: the all-electric GLC. Marking a bold step towards a fully battery-powered future, this new electric GLC transforms the company’s global bestseller into a cutting-edge EV. Built on a dedicated electric-first platform, the vehicle features an advanced 800-volt system, a WLTP range of up to 713 km (443 miles), and the innovative 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen that spans the entire dashboard.

The GLC 400 4MATIC will be the top-selling model and will be released in early 2026 with 360 kW (483 bhp), all-wheel drive and 0100 km/h acceleration of 4.3 seconds. It has front and backward motors, a disconnect unit to maximize the efficiency, and a two-speed gearbox to balance acceleration and cruising. The 94 kWh battery utilizing silicon oxide anodes provides a high energy density and can be charged at ultra-fast rates of 330 kW DC, adding 303 km (188 miles) in 10 minutes. It is also capable of charging in both directions (V2H, V2G), under local laws.

Aesthetically, the electric GLC borrows a futuristic lit grille and has an optional 942-dot animated light panel. It has an interior powered by the AI-driven MB.OS and the expansive Hyperscreen, integrating the driver, infotainment, and passenger displays. Voice control is integrated with Microsoft and Google AI, and the optional panorama roof will have the ability to control the panorama and to have star lighting. There is a new Vegan Package that guarantees an all animal-free cabin.

It has more space than its ICE predecessor, measuring 84 mm longer in wheelbase, 570 liters of boot (enlargeable to 1,740 litres) and 128 liters of frunk. It has a towing load of 2.4 tonnes and a drawbar on a load of 100 kg. For a comfortable ride, AIRMATIC suspension and rear-axle steering improve the agility and handling.

The electric GLC will be offered with advanced features and a powerful performance to offer an innovative approach to the luxury EV segment in the midsize SUV.
