Promoting green fuel initiative in the state, West Bengal Housing Infrastructure Development Corporation (WBHIDCO) has joined hands with Powerbank to establish the largest Public Fast Charging Hub for Electric Vehicles (EVs) in West Bengal and East India.

EV Charging HubPowerbank is a fast-growing EV charging network owned by Shuchi Anant Virya Private Limited

The EV Charging Hub is located at WBHIDCO New Town, Rajarhat, Kolkata, on a 1150-sq metre plot near the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre and the iconic Café Ekante.

The New Town EV Charging Hub is currently capable of fast-charging 25 vehicles at one go with 25 GB/T connector guns. Further expansions will allow 50-75 vehicles to enjoy fast charging and slow charging facilities.

EV owners can access these charging facilities in a hassle-free manner through the Powerbank EV charging mobile application.

The commissioning of this EV Charging Hub is a positive sign of the government’s push towards green energy and joins various other state governments across India in encouraging electric mobility. The charging hub was inaugurated by senior officers of WBHIDCO, along with other dignitaries and partners from the E- Mobility space.

A senior officer from WBHIDCO said, “The inauguration of this state-of-the-art EV Charging Hub marks a significant milestone in our efforts towards promoting sustainable and green mobility in West Bengal. The facility is a great addition to our state’s infrastructure and will encourage more people to switch to electric vehicles.”

Speaking on the occasion Rajneesh Agrawal, CEO of Powerbank said, “We are thrilled to inaugurate this state-of-the-art EV Charging Hub in Kolkata in partnership with WBHIDCO. As India moves towards sustainable energy, we are committed to providing accessible and reliable charging solutions that make electric mobility a viable option for all. We aim to provide seamless and convenient charging solutions for EV owners in Kolkata and encourage more people to adopt electric mobility. This is a memorable day for the EV mission of West Bengal.”
