NTPC Green Energy

NTPC Green Energy Limited has issued an EPC tender for the development of a 100 MW ground-mounted solar power project at Khanshi in Jhansi district, Uttar Pradesh, on behalf of NTPC UP Green Energy Limited (NUGEL). The deadline for submitting bids is June 8, 2026.

The contract covers the complete execution of the solar power plant, including design and engineering, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation, testing and final commissioning. The selected contractor will also be responsible for supplying the solar modules required for the project.

Preparatory work at the site will form an important part of the assignment. This includes land grading and levelling, vegetation clearance, topographical mapping and geotechnical studies. The project site will be handed over by the owner on an “as is, where is” basis.

Infrastructure and grid integration works

The successful bidder will also be required to provide and install the module mounting structures (MMS) for the photovoltaic panels. The scope includes fixing and interconnecting the modules within the system. Tender conditions specify that only fixed-tilt mounting systems will be permitted, while the procurement process will follow an MU-based bidding model.

Construction support facilities are also included within the scope of the tender. The contractor will need to arrange water and electricity required during the construction phase. Depending on the design configuration, the work may involve constructing a pre-engineered inverter room along with the power conditioning system and associated LT and HT switchgear. If string inverters are proposed, an additional HT switchgear room must also be constructed.

The project further includes the development of an EHV switchyard equipped with power transformers. In addition, the contractor will be required to construct the CMCS building and install all associated systems related to control, communication, automation, protection and auxiliary operations.

Grid integration infrastructure is another major component of the contract. The scope includes all required electrical and civil works related to the 33 kV system, including transformers, metering equipment, panels, cables and protection systems.

The contract also includes major grid integration work, covering electrical and civil infrastructure for the 33 kV system, such as transformers, metering units, cables, panels and protection systems. The selected bidder will additionally carry out grid compliance studies and execute HT cable installation and connections across the plant in accordance with the project’s technical requirements.
