NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL) has invited bids for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) of a 900 MW grid-connected, ground-mounted solar power project near its Kurnool Solar Project in Andhra Pradesh. The tender includes land acquisition, power evacuation infrastructure and the development of a substation bay.
The project will be connected to the Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS). Interested bidders must submit their bids by November 16, 2026.
Under the tender, the selected bidder will be responsible for the complete development of the solar project, including design, engineering, equipment supply, construction, installation and commissioning. The scope also covers the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar plant, along with the provision of consumables and spare parts for three years from the date of commissioning.
Key Responsibilities Under the Tender
The selected bidder will be required to undertake the following activities:
- Project Capacity: Develop a 900 MW ISTS-connected, ground-mounted solar power project near Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh.
- Land Acquisition: Identify and acquire suitable, encumbrance-free land for the solar project and the owner’s Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. Ownership or lease rights must be transferred to NTPC REL.
- 400 kV Substation Bay: Supply, install and commission a new 400 kV terminal line bay at NTPC REL’s Kurnool Solar Project Pooling Substation (PSS), including bus extension if required.
- Transmission Infrastructure: Develop a dedicated 400 kV transmission line connecting the solar plant to the Kurnool Solar Project PSS and secure the necessary Right of Way (ROW).
- Complete EPC Works: Execute all civil, structural and electrical works, including the supply and installation of solar modules and associated equipment.
- Power Evacuation: Establish the power evacuation system up to the Kurnool Solar Project PSS and install telemetry infrastructure up to the ISTS pooling substation through the designated PSS.
- Equipment Supply and Commissioning: Handle the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, transportation, installation and commissioning of the grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) project.
- Operation and Maintenance: Provide O&M services and supply the required consumables and spare parts for three years from the project’s commissioning date.
