Oswal Pumps Limited’s subsidiary, Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited, has received a large order from Swashakthi Energy to supply, install, and start up 7.46 MWp grid-connected rooftop solar systems. The project, which costs ₹39.40 crore (including GST), is Oswal Pumps’ first foray into the rooftop solar market and fits with the Indian government’s main program, PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
Scope of the Project
Swashakthi Energy was awarded the 7.46 MWp rooftop solar projects by the New & Renewable Energy Development Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd. (NREDCAP) under the Surya Ghar scheme. Oswal Solar Energy Private Limited has been entrusted with the design, engineering, supply, installation, and commissioning of the solar systems.
The order also includes a five-year comprehensive maintenance contract (CMC). The systems will serve 3,729 SC & ST consumers across the Pulivendula and Puttaparthy divisions under APSPDCL in Andhra Pradesh. This initiative strengthens Oswal Pumps’ commitment to supporting India’s renewable energy goals while expanding its footprint in solar solutions.
Leadership Perspective
Commenting on the order, Mr. Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Oswal Pumps Limited, said,
“This order paves the way for the Company to participate in the Government of India’s PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana and marks an important milestone in our commitment to advancing India’s renewable energy transition.”
He added, “We are confident that the successful execution of this project will strengthen our presence in the rooftop solar segment, enable deeper market penetration, diversify our product and market segments, and open the door to larger opportunities in the future.”
Mr. Gupta also talked about the timing of the initiative. He said that the Union Budget raised the amount of money available for the PM Surya Ghar scheme from ₹17,000 crore to ₹22,000 crore. This gave the government a chance to use policy support, rising electricity prices, and growing demand for sustainable energy solutions.
“Our consistent track record of timely execution and high-quality delivery across public sector renewable energy programs continues to reinforce our credibility. We are strongly positioned to capitalize on the rapidly expanding rooftop solar opportunity and look forward to contributing meaningfully to India’s clean energy and rural electrification goals,” he concluded.
