Pace Digitek Partners with NEC XON for BESS Distribution Across Five African Nations

Pace Digitek Limited and NEC XON Systems Proprietary Limited entered into an agreement for OEM exclusivity whereby Pace Digitek will distribute NEC XON’s energy products in few of the African countries.

The agreement, executed on April 22, 2026, grants NEC XON exclusive rights to market, distribute, and sell Pace Digitek’s products, including Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), across South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, and Mauritius.

NEC XON, a South Africa-based technology integrator, holds no equity stake in Pace Digitek. The company stated that the agreement does not constitute a related-party transaction and that NEC XON has no relationship with its promoter, promoter group, or group entities.

While the agreement is based on commercial terms outlined between the parties, specific financial consideration details were not disclosed.

Pace Digitek’s International Expansion

This strategic alliance is significant for Pace Digitek as it paves the way for its international expansion into certain parts of Africa. There is immense potential in Africa for energy storage technologies due to its growing need for energy storage technologies on account of growing renewable energies.

NEC XON’s established presence, strong customer relationships, and proven execution track record across the region provide an effective platform for Pace Digitek to address these opportunities.

The collaboration combines Pace Digitek’s integrated BESS manufacturing and product capabilities with NEC XON’s regional market access, systems integration expertise, and project execution capabilities to create a scalable and execution-oriented growth platform.

This association will help Pace Digitek build demand channels that will be structured and work towards market entry through the regional presence of NEC XON. In addition, the association will help Pace Digitek enhance its market image as an energy solutions company that has products at its center and improve its delivery capabilities.

Pace Digitek Expands ESS Portfolio With BESS Offerings

For NEC XON, the partnership expands its energy solutions portfolio with integrated BESS offerings, leverages LPPL’s manufacturing capabilities and product quality, and enhances its ability to address evolving demand for reliable and scalable energy infrastructure.

Commenting on the development, Rajiv Maddisetty, Whole-time Director, Pace Digitek Limited, said, “This partnership with NEC XON marks an important step in our international expansion  journey. It provides a strong platform to introduce our integrated energy solutions into high-growth markets, while supporting the ramp-up of our BESS manufacturing capacity. We believe this collaboration will enable us to build a scalable international business, strengthen our product segment and increase our presence in the global energy storage market.”

Magnus Coetzee, Executive Infrastructure & Energy at NEC XON Systems Proprietary Limited, said, “We are pleased to partner with Pace Digitek and Lineage Power. LPPL’s manufacturing capabilities, product quality and focus on integrated energy solutions align well with our requirements for delivering reliable and grid-scale BESS solutions across our markets. This partnership strengthens our ability to offer advanced energy solutions to our customers and supports our focus on enabling resilient and efficient infrastructure across the region.”
