Pratap Technocrats, a leading infrastructure firm based in Gurugram has announced that it has officially confirmed its spot in the Renewable Energy Sector with a massive ₹776.13 crore contract from NTPC Limited for one the biggest Battery Energy Storage Projects in India. This major project win signalls Pratap Technologies shift from a telecom network expert to a Renewable Energy Player too.
Key Details Under the Agreement
Pratap Technocrats has to install 570 MWh of BESS in Madhya Pradesh across two of its major Power Plants as part of this agreement
- NTPC GADARWARA : 320 MWh capacity
- NTPC Khargone: 250 MWh capacity
Pratap Technocrats will be the responsible for the entire project from the first design and engineering to the final commissioning of the 570 MWh of BESS Project in Madhya pradesh. These high-tech battery systems act like ” gaint power banks” balancing the grid. They provide a consistent and dependable power supply for homes and businesses by storing excess electricity during periods of low demand and releasing it during peak hours.
As India is moving towards becoming more reliable on Renewable Energy sources like the Solar, wind and hydro, the grid needs to be able to handle the fluctuations due to Renewable Energy. This BESS Project will help stabilize the grid reducing the risk of power outages.
“This project reflects the trust placed in our execution capabilities,” said Devendra Singh Shekhawat, Chairman of Pratap Technocrats.
He highlighted that the project is a “significant milestone” that supports India’s transition toward a sustainable and resilient energy future.
This deal comes shortly after the company won several packages under the government’s BharatNet Phase 3 program. By securing this NTPC contract, Pratap Technocrats is proving its ability to deliver large-scale, future-ready infrastructure. The project not only strengthens India’s energy security but also positions Pratap Technocrats as a key player in the nation’s journey toward a green and clean energy ecosystem.
