Evergreen Lithium Recycling, a group company of Evergreen Recyclekaro India Limited, has entered into a technology licensing agreement with the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay to advance the extraction of battery precursor-related critical minerals and enhance efficiency in battery recycling operations.

This collaboration marks a significant step in Recyclekaro’s efforts to build scalable, technology-driven solutions in India’s emerging circular economy. The licensed technology is expected to deliver up to 30%-40% processing cost optimization while improving overall process efficiency, strengthening Recyclekaro’s capabilities in urban mining and resource recovery.

At a time when India is prioritizing critical mineral security and localization of battery supply chains, this partnership reinforces Recyclekaro’s commitment to supporting the country’s clean energy transition and electric mobility ecosystem.

Commenting on the development, Rajesh Gupta, Founder & MD, Recyclekaro, said:
“Building a robust critical minerals ecosystem in India requires strong collaboration between industry and academia. Our partnership with IIT Bombay is a strategic step towards enhancing process efficiency while also investing in indigenous innovation, talent, and infrastructure. We believe such R&D specific collaborations will play a pivotal role in shaping India’s position in the global resource recovery and recycling landscape.”

Through this collaboration, Recyclekaro aims to further strengthen its technological capabilities, drive innovation in battery recycling, and contribute to the development of sustainable and commercially viable solutions for India’s future material needs.

The partnership also reflects Recyclekaro’s broader vision of fostering deeper industry-academia engagement to accelerate growth in the critical minerals and circular economy sectors.
