Solar Energy Corporation of India, (SECI) has announced its strong presence at the World Hydrogen Summit 2026, showcasing India’s growing push towards the green hydrogen sector.
At the World Hydrogen Summit 2026 held in Rotterdam, the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) highlighted India’s growing green hydrogen ecosystem and its efforts to build globally competitive green fuel markets.
During the session titled “Green Hydrogen in a Shifting World Order: Securing Supply, Scaling Capacity,” Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar) at SECI, spoke about the organization’s major initiatives in the green hydrogen sector. A major highlight was SECI’s landmark green ammonia tender of nearly 0.724 MMTPA, which achieved globally competitive pricing.
SECI explained that several risk-reduction measures helped improve bidder confidence and pricing transparency. These included
- joint site visits
- infrastructure assessments
- strategic auction sequencing
- standardized contracts
- and strong payment security mechanisms
According to SECI, these steps helped shift the market from assumption-based bidding to execution-based pricing.
The organization also shared updates on its ongoing 0.5 MMTPA green methanol initiative and stressed the importance of India-Europe collaboration in building a strong green hydrogen economy. SECI emphasized the need for certification alignment, long-term offtake agreements, and trusted green energy corridors between regions.
The session also featured industry leaders including Rahul Munjal from Hero Future Energies, Jorgo Chatzimarkakis of Hydrogen Europe, Matthieu Boisson from CertifHy, and Lukas Hubert of H2Global Foundation.
SECI invited global stakeholders to visit its pavilion at the summit to explore partnership opportunities in India’s expanding green hydrogen sector.
