Statiq, Cube Stop team to accelerate India's highway EV revolution

Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas and Statiq have partnered to strengthen the EV charging infrastructure and hasten the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) on India’s roads. This partnership is a critical first step in supporting environmentally friendly transportation options across the nation.

India, which has the second-largest road network in the world, with over 63.73 lakh km, has seen an increase in traffic in recent years. But this expansion has also made environmental problems worse, most notably carbon emissions. India may drastically reduce its environmental effect by switching to electric cars (EVs), which have zero exhaust emissions and are therefore a greener and cleaner mode of transportation.

By the agreement, Statiq will construct state-of-the-art EV charging stations at several Cube Stop Highway Rest Areas, beginning at the flagship site on the Hyderabad-Bengaluru Highway (NH44) in Anantapur. A wide variety of vehicles, including 4-wheelers and large vehicles like trucks and buses, will be serviced at these stations. By placing Cube Stop strategically along important routes, the partnership seeks to reduce range anxiety for lengthy interstate trips by democratising access to EV charging facilities.

Expressing enthusiasm about the collaboration, Akshit Bansal, Founder & CEO of Statiq, stated, “We envision a future powered by green energy, and through partnerships like this, we aim to expedite the transition to clean energy by expanding the EV charging infrastructure along the nation’s highways. This partnership perfectly aligns with our mission to make EV charging accessible, convenient, and reliable for all.”

Echoing this sentiment, Nitin Goel, Chief Operating Officer of Cube Stop, emphasized the company’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. “Cube Stop is dedicated to providing unparalleled convenience and comfort to travelers on India’s roadways. Our partnership with Statiq reflects our commitment to embracing innovation and meeting the evolving needs of our patrons. By integrating EV charging stations into our network of amenities, we aim to enhance the Cube Stop experience while supporting the nation’s transition to sustainable mobility.”

Statiq has already deployed 7,000 chargers across tier 1, tier 2, and tier 3 cities in India, with ambitious plans to scale up to 20,000 EV charging points by 2025. This collaboration with Cube Stop represents a significant stride towards realizing these objectives and propelling India’s EV revolution forward.
