Sunsure Energy, a leading provider of Round-the-Clock (RTC) renewable energy solutions for businesses and utilities in India, has entered into a long-term green power purchase agreement (PPA) with Kajaria Ceramics, the country’s largest manufacturer of ceramic and vitrified tiles. Under the agreement, Sunsure Energy will develop dedicated 10 MW (15 MWp) solar and 10 MW wind power capacities as part of its upcoming project in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. The renewable power generated through the project will be supplied on a Round-the-Clock basis to Kajaria Ceramics’ manufacturing facilities in Gailpur and Alwar, Rajasthan.
This is the second power purchase agreement between the two companies, following a 7 MW long-term solar agreement signed in 2023. The repeat partnership highlights Sunsure’s commitment to customer centricity and its ability to support India’s manufacturing ecosystem with reliable and cost-effective renewable energy solutions.
The annual supply to Kajaria’s facilities is expected to be 52.5 million units (MUs), leading to an estimated annual offset of 42,000 metric tonnes of CO2e greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. With this agreement, the total signed capacity between Sunsure Energy and Kajaria Ceramics has grown to 27 MW, further strengthening the partnership between the two companies.
Commenting on the partnership, Parveen Gupta, V.P. (Finance) – Kajaria Ceramics said, “Our continued partnership with Sunsure Energy reflects our commitment to progressively increasing the share of renewable energy in our operations.
