Suzlon Energy has secured its first order for its newly launched S175 (5 MW) wind turbine from Sunsure Energy, marking a significant milestone in the company’s next-generation wind energy technology portfolio.

The order involves a 105 MW wind power project in Karnataka, where Suzlon will supply, install, commission, and provide operations and maintenance services for 21 units of the S175 wind turbine generators.

The project, located in Bijapur, Karnataka, further strengthens the growing partnership between Suzlon and Sunsure Energy. With this latest order, the two companies have expanded their collaboration to approximately 400.8 MW within 14 months, highlighting increasing confidence in Suzlon’s wind technology solutions.

The S175 turbine represents Suzlon’s move toward higher-capacity wind turbines designed to improve energy generation efficiency and support large-scale renewable energy projects. The turbine features a 175-metre rotor diameter and a 160-metre hybrid lattice tower, enabling better performance in varying wind conditions and helping developers maximise power generation.

Suzlon said the order reflects growing customer confidence in its advanced wind energy solutions and reinforces its focus on delivering high-performance turbines for India’s expanding renewable energy market.

Sunsure Energy’s investment in the S175 platform aligns with its strategy to expand clean energy capacity and provide renewable power solutions to commercial and industrial consumers. The company has been actively developing renewable energy projects and strengthening its portfolio through partnerships with leading technology providers.

The latest order comes as India continues to accelerate renewable energy deployment, with wind power remaining a key component of the country’s clean energy transition. Higher-capacity turbines are gaining importance as developers look to improve project efficiency, optimise land use, and enhance renewable power generation.

Suzlon’s S175 platform is expected to support the next phase of wind energy growth by enabling larger and more efficient projects. The company’s latest order from Sunsure Energy highlights the increasing adoption of advanced wind turbine technology and strengthens Suzlon’s position in India’s renewable energy sector.

The development also reflects the broader trend of renewable energy companies focusing on improved turbine technology, stronger project partnerships, and scalable clean energy solutions to meet India’s growing electricity demand.
