Suzlon Group has strengthened its long-standing partnership with Tata Power by securing a new 400 MW wind Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) order, taking the total capacity executed and under development between the two companies beyond the 1 GW mark. The latest project marks another significant milestone in India’s expanding renewable energy sector and reinforces the growing collaboration between two of the country’s leading clean energy companies.
The 400 MW wind project has been awarded under a developer-led (DevCo) model, reflecting the increasing preference for integrated renewable energy solutions that combine project development expertise with advanced wind technology. Under the agreement, Suzlon will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of the project, including the supply, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of wind turbine generators and associated infrastructure.
The new order further strengthens Suzlon’s position as one of India’s leading wind energy solutions providers. The company has been witnessing steady growth in its order book, driven by increasing demand for renewable energy projects from independent power producers, utilities, and corporate customers seeking to meet sustainability targets.
Crossing the 1 GW partnership milestone with Tata Power highlights the confidence that the utility continues to place in Suzlon’s technology, project execution capabilities, and long-term service support. The collaboration has contributed significantly to the expansion of India’s wind energy capacity while supporting the country’s transition toward a cleaner and more sustainable energy mix.
India’s renewable energy sector continues to gain momentum as the country accelerates investments in wind and solar power to meet its ambitious clean energy targets. Wind energy remains a crucial component of the nation’s renewable portfolio, particularly in states with strong wind resources, helping diversify electricity generation and improve grid stability.
The latest project is expected to contribute to India’s decarbonization efforts by increasing the share of renewable energy in the power mix while reducing greenhouse gas emissions. It also supports the government’s broader objective of strengthening domestic clean energy infrastructure and enhancing energy security.
For Suzlon, the order reflects continued business momentum and reinforces its role in driving India’s renewable energy growth. As demand for utility-scale wind projects continues to rise, the company is well positioned to expand its market presence through strategic partnerships and large-scale EPC projects that support the country’s long-term sustainability goals.
