Suzlon Energy has secured a fresh 250 MW wind order from Torrent Green Energy, taking its cumulative collaboration with the Torrent Group to 1,306 MW across Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
The latest order will see Suzlon supply 76 units of its S144 wind turbine generators, each rated at 3.3 MW. The scope also includes installation and commissioning, grid integration, and long-term operations and maintenance services, according to the latest announcement.
The new order strengthens a relationship that has developed into one of Suzlon’s sizeable repeat-customer partnerships. With this addition, the combined capacity of projects undertaken with the Torrent Group reaches 1,306 MW, crossing the 1.3 GW mark.
The order also adds another utility-scale deployment for Suzlon’s S144 platform, which has been a significant part of the company’s recent domestic order activity.
Sixth Torrent order takes partnership to 1,306 MW
The 250 MW contract is the sixth order from the Torrent Group, extending a relationship that spans multiple Indian wind markets.
The partnership has previously included projects in Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh, and the latest order further expands Suzlon’s presence across these markets.
Suzlon’s relationship with Torrent Power dates back several years. In May 2023, the company announced a 300 MW order from Torrent Power for 100 turbines from its 3 MW series for a project in Karnataka. Suzlon’s scope at the time included equipment supply, land, project execution, erection and commissioning, followed by comprehensive O&M.
In January 2025, Suzlon announced another 486 MW order from Torrent Power, involving 162 S144 wind turbine generators in Gujarat. That order took the cumulative Suzlon-Torrent collaboration to 1 GW at the time.
The latest 250 MW addition now takes that partnership to 1,306 MW.
76 S144 turbines to be deployed
Under the latest order, Suzlon will deploy 76 S144 turbines, with each turbine carrying a rated capacity of 3.3 MW.
The turbine supply is accompanied by grid-integration work and long-term O&M, giving Suzlon a role extending beyond equipment supply into project execution and lifecycle support.
The stated order capacity remains 250 MW, even though 76 turbines at 3.3 MW each amount to 250.8 MW on a simple nameplate multiplication. The 250 MW figure should therefore be retained as the company’s announced order capacity.
Another addition to Suzlon’s FY27 order pipeline
The Torrent order also comes as Suzlon continues to build its order pipeline during FY27. The latest announcement takes the company’s new order intake for the financial year to more than 1.1 GW, according to current reporting.
Suzlon has continued to secure orders for its 3 MW platform during 2026, including a 195 MW order from Sunsure Energy announced in May, which took sales of the company’s 3 MW platform to nearly 9 GW.
For Torrent Green, the new order adds another 250 MW to its renewable-energy portfolio, while for Suzlon it represents another repeat order from an established customer and another large deployment of its S144 turbine platform.
The latest contract therefore takes the Suzlon-Torrent relationship beyond 1.3 GW, while adding another 250 MW of wind capacity to a partnership that has expanded across multiple states and successive turbine generations.
