Tata Elxsi and Suzuki Launch Cloud HIL Center in India to Accelerate Virtual Vehicle Development

Tata Elxsi Limited (Managing Director & CEO: Manoj Raghavan; Head office: Bangalore, India; hereinafter “Tata Elxsi”) has announced the establishment of the “SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Cloud HIL Center” in India.

This is Tata Elxsi‘s second development base for Suzuki Motor Corporation (Representative Director and President: Toshihiro Suzuki, Head Office: Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, hereinafter “Suzuki”), following the “SUZUKI-TATA ELXSI Offshore Development Center.”

Suzuki is promoting the virtual development in “SDV right,” and the establishment of the center is part of the development. At the center, Suzuki will outsource the development of an evaluation platform using “Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL)” and evaluations using this platform to Tata Elxsi. We will also introduce a system that allows remote management and operation from Suzuki’s headquarters via the cloud to accelerate development and increase efficiency.

An evaluation method in which on-board ECUs (electronic control units) are connected via a network and simulation can be performed on a computer without moving the actual vehicle.

The opening ceremony was held today in Trivandrum, Kerala, where the center is established, attended by Manoj Raghavan, Managing Director & CEO of Tata Elxsi, and Katsuhiro Kato, Director and Executive Vice President of Suzuki. Executive Vice President Kato said, “The SUZUKI TATA ELXSI Cloud HIL Center is a new base that leverages Tata Elxsi’s expertise and deep experience to build an advanced and efficient development system. We hope that Suzuki will promote virtualization to realize minimization of energy and contribute to the development of next-generation mobility significantly.”
