Tata Power-DDL and Battery Smart partner to accelerate EV adoption in North Delhi with fast, convenient battery swap stations.

Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd. has mentioned that it has partnered with Battery Smart to install a swap station of two- and three-wheelers at different places in North Delhi in the year 2022.

As EV penetration grows in India, this partnership will be another significant milestone in the effort of the two companies in putting the country on the route towards electric mobility by giving people more spaces to conveniently access the swap points, an official statement said.

The high capacity of power and infrastructure coverage that Tata Power Delhi Distribution has will enable Battery Smart to set up additional high-capacity swap stations at strategic points to accommodate the increased electric two- and three-wheeler demand. At Azadpur, which is one of the busiest markets in the capital, the first swap station is currently functional and live.

“Our partnership with Battery Smart strengthens our resolve to enable India’s EV revolution. This partnership reiterates our commitment towards a cleaner and pollution-free Delhi by making swapping stations accessible to customers at the same scale and convenience as refueling. We look forward to working together to achieve our collective goal of moving towards clean mobility,” said Dwijadas Basak, Chief of the Commercial, Consumer Experience & Social Impact Group at Tata Power Delhi Distribution.

Speaking on the occasion, Battery Smart’s Co-Founder, Siddharth Sikka, said, “We are extremely excited to work with Tata Power Delhi Distribution to continue accelerating EV adoption in India. This is a significant milestone for us, as we have been growing at 10X since last July, and this association will provide us access to existing infrastructure and power requirements to scale our business further.”

With its large population and high connectivity, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited and Battery Smart are assisting Delhi in its ‘Switch Delhi’ by providing electric two- and three-wheeled vehicles using low-cost, affordable swappable batteries through its Swap Points locations that allow the rider to achieve unlimited range with backupin less than 2 minutes! The Swap Points will aid in increasing the capital city of India, which is quickly developing an eco-friendly economy.
