    Telangana Expecting 1000 EV Chargers under PPP Model

    Making electric vehicles adoption easier in the state, Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TSREDCO) has announced that 1000 Electric Vehicles (EV) chargers would come up across the state under Pubic Private Partnership model.

    TSREDCOOf around 32,000 EVs are on road in the state, presently 156 EV charging stations in operation and another around 100 EVCS under implementation, TSREDCO said in a release.

    Telangana is also establishing an exclusive energy park at Divitipally and also utilizing existing Electrical Motor Companies at Raviryal and Maheshwaram, it said the expected estimated total investments in the state are around Rs 30,000 crore and it would generate direct employment of around 1.2 lakh and also reduction in co2 emissions is 6.61 Terra grams (661 crore kg).

    As per the EV and Energy Storage Solution Policy 2020, the first two lakh electric two-wheelers and first 5,000 units of four-wheelers will get 100 per cent exemption of road tax and registration fee.

    The Telangana government has proactively implemented all the renewable energy, Energy conservation programs along with Telangana state Electric Vehicle and Energy Storage Solution Policy in the state.

    TSREDCO said under Renewable Energy program, the state has already achieved 4511.77 MW of solar energy, which was purely developed under decentralized distribution generation mode, first of its kind in the country and 128.8 MW under wind energy and stood at 4th position in Solar Energy.

    Besides saving 1005 MU from all energy conservation activities, the state has also saved 3.30 lakh metric tonnes of oil equivalent (consists of both electrical and thermal energy) of energy under PAT Cycle-I for designated consumers, the release added.
