Ace Green Recycling, Inc., a prominent supplier of environmentally friendly battery recycling technology solutions, announced that it has signed a partnership with The Owens GroupPty Ltd, a prominent lead battery recycler with headquarters in Perth, Australia, to promote environmentally friendly battery recycling opportunities in the country.

Ace has obtained a master offtake agreement as part of the partnership, according to which Enecell will sell the company 100% of the recovered lead material from its battery-breaking recycling plant in Perth, Australia, so Ace may resell it. Ace intends to sell the lead battery material to its global network after purchasing it from Enecell. The offtake agreement can be renewed beyond its initial ten-year duration. The master offtake agreement covers any future expansions or modifications at the facility, including lead refining, casting, and alloying capabilities, as well as lithium battery processing. Enecell’s Perth facility currently has a processing capacity of over 33 million pounds of intermediate recycled lead products.

Additionally, Ace Green and Enecell are investigating the possibility of integrating Ace’s exclusive GREENLEAD® recycling technology—a completely electric procedure with zero Scope 1 emissions—at Enecell’s plant. The firms are investigating the feasibility of using the Company’s LithiumFirstTM technology, which can recycle lithium batteries commercially, at Enecell’s plant in addition to recycling lead batteries. It is anticipated that Ace and Enecell’s collaboration will make use of their combined resources and experience to build a strong recycling facility in Australia that can effectively handle large amounts of used batteries, promoting a circular economy and reducing the need to transport dangerous goods across international borders.

Ace’s overall growth strategy, which emphasizes revenue generation through capital efficiency, aligns with the transaction. Furthermore, Ace Green is able to match the contractual conditions given by a prospective end user to buy battery material from Enecell’s facilities for its own use rather than for resale thanks to the master offtake agreement. By offering more feerecycling solutions dstock security for upcoming projects and to satisfy client demand, this option enhances Ace’s recycling solutions platform even further.

“Ace shares our vision in driving the growth of environmentally friendly solutions to support smart lead recycling,” stated Paul Owens, Founder and CEO of Enecell. “We have a profound appreciation for their innovative technology and immense customer network. I recently had the privilege of witnessing Ace’s technology in action, and I was thoroughly impressed. I look forward to partnering with Ace Green to bring more climate focused recycling opportunities for both lead and lithium batteries in Australia.”

“Ace and Enecell are industry pioneers when it comes to sustainable solutions for recycling lead, and we look forward to partnering with Enecell as we expand our operations into Australia, a previously untapped market for us,” stated Nishchay Chadha, CEO and Co-Founder of Ace Green. “Australia, similar to the U.S., has been   implementing strict regulations for smelting lead and has shut down some smelters that do not meet such regulations, which, we believe, strategically positions Ace and Enecell to help meet the demand for lead by delivering a more sustainable recycling solution. While lead recycling remains a key near-term growth driver for Ace, we believe that Australia’s position as the world’s top lithium producer presents significant long-term opportunities for lithium battery recycling in this market.”
