Ampere, Muthoot Capital Join Forces to Expand EV Financing Across India

Ampere, the electric two-wheeler brand of Greaves Electric Mobility (GEML), has partnered with Muthoot Capital Services, a non-banking financial company (NBFC), to make electric mobility more affordable and accessible for customers across India.

Under the partnership, Muthoot Capital will provide customer-focused retail financing solutions for Ampere’s range of electric two-wheelers. The collaboration aims to address affordability challenges and encourage wider adoption of electric mobility, particularly among customers with diverse income profiles and mobility needs.

The financing solutions are expected to offer flexible repayment options to salaried professionals, self-employed individuals, gig workers and small business owners, helping make EV ownership more convenient and financially sustainable.

Manoj M. P., Chief Business Officer, Greaves Electric Mobility, said the partnership will help remove financial barriers for EV buyers while offering greater choice and convenience. He added that the collaboration is intended to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility across India.

Mathews Markose, CEO, Muthoot Capital Services, said financing would play an important role in supporting India’s shift towards cleaner transportation. He highlighted the company’s aim to extend accessible and responsible mobility financing beyond metropolitan cities and into smaller markets.

The partnership combines GEML’s growing electric two-wheeler portfolio with Muthoot Capital’s retail financing network and technology-enabled lending capabilities. It is expected to support dealer growth, expand access to electric mobility and strengthen GEML’s presence in the Indian EV market.

Through its network of more than 500 touchpoints across India, the collaboration aims to provide customers with seamless access to financing and support the broader expansion of electric two-wheelers in the country.
