Ayana Renewable Power through its subsidiary Ayana Kadapa Renewable Power has announced the commissioning of 158.4 MW of a 250 MW solar photovoltaic project in Andhra Pradesh. The capacity has been declared commercially operational with effect from February 14, 2026, following certification by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).
Ayana Renewable Power is working on this solar project as part of its larger goal to increase the amount of renewable energy produced in India. The project also adds to the NTPC Green Energy group’s total installed renewable capacity, which is now 9,151.08 MW.
Ayana Renewable Power is a part of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, which is a joint venture between ONGC and NTPC Green Energy Limited. This growth in Andhra Pradesh shows how far the company has come in making utility-scale solar power and how it is helping India reach its clean energy goals.
Commercial Operation and Capacity Update
The regulatory filing says that the 158.4 MW part of the 250 MW plant was declared commercially operational on February 14, 2026, based on the SECI certificate dated February 20, 2026.
With this capacity addition, the NTPC Green Energy group’s total installed renewable energy base has increased to 9,151.08 MW, reflecting continued progress in expanding solar power generation across multiple states.
The rest of the site’s 91.6 MW of capacity is expected to be put into use in later phases, in line with project timelines and plans for overall capacity growth.
Strategic Importance and Sector Context
The solar project fits in with India’s plans to use less fossil fuels and more renewable energy. India’s energy transition needs big solar PV plants like this one to help meet the growing demand for electricity with clean energy and support climate goals.
Competitive bidding, supportive policies from the central and state governments, and long-term power purchase agreements that give developers stable returns are all helping utility-scale solar grow.
The commissioning is a step forward for utility-scale solar deployment and strengthens India’s strategy for expanding renewable energy at a time when clean power generation is getting more attention.
