BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, a world leader in photovoltaic distribution, is growing its presence in Europe’s commercial energy storage market. In a number of important European markets, BayWa r.e. will now provide WHES battery storage solutions thanks to a new strategic alliance with Tier-1 manufacturer WHES.

Alexander Schütt, Chief Operating Officer at BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, states, “We have acquired a partner that satisfies our exacting standards for quality, safety, and system integration with WHES.” “The systems are a great technical and strategic addition to our current portfolio.”

“This agreement is a major milestone for WHES as we scale our commercial storage offering across Europe,” attaches John Susa, Chief Sales Officer at WHES. “Partnering with BayWa r.e. Solar Trade gives us unmatched access to key regional markets and reinforces our shared vision of accelerating the clean energy transition with best-in-class technology and service.”

Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, Lithuania, Greece, Albania, and Kosovo will all receive the systems from BayWa r.e. under exclusive agreements.

The WHES systems have an all-in-one, modular design and are specifically designed for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) applications. They use battery modules from key stakeholder CATL, which is well-known around the world for its high quality, dependability, and safety. They also use proprietary power conversion (PCS) and energy management systems (EMS).
