Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has elevated Rashmi Kathuria to the position of Executive Director (Strategic Communication & Communication Systems – SCCS) and Unit Head at the Ghaziabad Complex, strengthening its leadership team as the defence PSU continues to advance India’s indigenous defence electronics capabilities.

With 36 years of experience in the defence electronics sector, Kathuria has been associated with BEL since 1989, building an extensive career across strategic communication systems, satellite communication technologies, and defence programmes. In her new role, she will lead BEL’s Strategic Communication & Communication Systems (SCCS) business and oversee operations at the Ghaziabad Complex, focusing on driving technological innovation, operational excellence, and the execution of key strategic defence projects.

Before her elevation, Kathuria served as General Manager – Ghaziabad Complex, where she headed both the Ghaziabad Complex and the Satellite Communication Strategic Business Unit (SBU). During her tenure, she led several critical communication and defence technology initiatives, contributing to the development and delivery of advanced communication solutions for the country’s defence sector.

Earlier in her career, she progressed through multiple leadership roles, including Assistant General Manager (AGM), taking on increasing responsibilities across BEL’s communication systems portfolio. Over the years, she has played a significant role in strengthening the company’s capabilities in advanced defence electronics, satellite communication systems, and strategic communication technologies.

Her elevation comes as BEL continues to expand its role in supporting India’s defence modernisation and the government’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative in defence manufacturing. As one of India’s leading defence public sector enterprises, BEL has been actively developing indigenous technologies across communication systems, radar, electronic warfare, and other mission-critical defence solutions.

In her new leadership position, Kathuria will be responsible for steering the SCCS business, strengthening operational efficiencies at the Ghaziabad Complex, and ensuring the timely execution of strategic defence programmes. She is also expected to focus on enhancing innovation, improving project delivery, and supporting the development of next-generation communication technologies for the armed forces.

Her appointment reflects BEL’s continued emphasis on experienced leadership to drive growth in advanced defence electronics. With her deep technical expertise and decades of institutional knowledge, BEL Rashmi Kathuria is expected to play a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s Strategic Communication & Communication Systems (SCCS) business, enhancing innovation, and reinforcing Bharat Electronics Limited’s position as a key contributor to India’s self-reliance in defence technology.
