Berde Renewables, backed by I Squared Capital, has partnered with Sungrow Power and its regional distributor, Solar Hive, to expand solar and battery energy storage projects in the Philippines and Thailand. Under a three-year Master Framework Agreement (MFA), Berde Renewables will procure 200 MW of solar inverters and 500 MWh of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) to support the development of renewable energy projects across the two Southeast Asian markets.
The agreement is aimed at expanding access to cleaner, more reliable, and cost-efficient energy solutions while supporting the growing demand for solar and energy storage across Southeast Asia.
Commenting on the partnership, Patrick Zhu, Chief Executive Officer of Berde Renewables, said:

Under the agreement, Berde Renewables will utilise Sungrow’s portfolio of solar inverters, battery energy storage systems, EV charging solutions and smart energy technologies. Solar Hive will provide regional logistics, technical support, spare parts and after-sales services across the Philippines and Thailand.

David Zhang, Head of Sales and Business Development at Solar Hive, said the collaboration is expected to strengthen renewable energy deployment in the region while creating opportunities for future expansion into other Southeast Asian markets.
Beyond equipment supply, the three companies will collaborate on technical training and certification, joint market development initiatives, stakeholder engagement, as well as potential co-investment and vendor financing opportunities for selected renewable energy projects.
The partnership with Sungrow enhances Berde Renewables’ ability to provide integrated solar-plus-storage solutions through its Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) model, under which the company finances, develops, owns and operates renewable energy assets and then transfers ownership to customers once the contract period ends.
The agreement is projected to enable grid stability, daytime to nighttime energy shifting and reduce energy prices for commercial and industrial clients while boosting energy resilience in the Philippines and Thailand by combining 200 MW of solar capacity with 500 MWh of battery storage.
