“Aapko Pata Hai?” Bijliride Highlights the Hidden Environmental Impact of Everyday EV Riders

Electric mobility platform Bijliride has marked World Environmental Health Day with a street-level vox-pop campaign featuring candid interactions with everyday EV riders across Hyderabad. The campaign asks commuters and commercial delivery drivers a simple question: “Do you know how much you are benefiting the environment by using an EV?” When riders say they are unaware of the extent of their environmental impact, the host calculates their individual carbon offset on the spot, highlighting the contribution made through their everyday EV usage.

The video highlights a critical reality of sustainable transport: while many switch to EVs primarily for economic reasons, with one commercial rider discovering that up to 70% fuel expense is saved by EV riders, they are often completely unaware of their role in reducing urban pollution. The live interactions capture genuine surprise and pride as riders realize their daily commutes, which range from 15 to 150 kilometres, are keeping hundreds of kilograms of carbon emissions out of the city’s air. One rider noted feeling proud that their choices were providing actual relief to the environment.

The core engine driving these on-ground realizations is Bijliride’s interactive Green Impact Calculator, actively featured in the video and available to the public on the company’s website. By inputting three simple data points, daily commuting distance, standard petrol vehicle mileage, and current fuel costs, anyone can instantly generate a personalized report. The web tool processes these inputs to reveal the exact monthly CO2 emissions avoided, translating abstract sustainability metrics into tangible proof where a single rider can see they are offsetting over 1,000 kg (1 ton) of carbon a month.

“The true drivers of healthier cities and cleaner air are everyday people,” said Vishal Vikram, Co-Founder and CMO of Bijliride. “On World Environmental Health Day, we want to highlight that individual mobility choices have a massive, measurable impact on the health of our environment. By giving commuters access to their own data through our website’s calculator, we are empowering our riders to take pride in the fact that their daily routines are actively helping our cities breathe easier.”

Founded in 2021, Bijliride is India’s leading SaaS-powered electric two-wheeler rental platform, tackling urban challenges of pollution and rising commuting costs. With a fleet of 4,000+ EVs across major cities, it serves both individuals and enterprises through 24/7 battery swapping, on-road support, and enterprise fleet management. Backed by strong tech integration, franchise-led expansion, and a vision to enable one million users by 2030, Bijliride is driving the shift toward sustainable and cost-effective urban mobility.
