Bijliride, a startup that rents out electric vehicles and makes mobility technology, has started offering B2C electric two-wheeler rentals in Delhi. The goal is to give city riders a clean and cheap way to get around. The program is a big step toward the company’s goal of creating shared, electric-first transportation options for people who commute to work every day.
Delhi Rollout Targets Urban Mobility Needs
The service will begin in high‑demand neighbourhoods across South, Central, West and East Delhi, selected for strong commuter flow, good public transport links and a clear requirement for short‑distance travel solutions. Lado Sarai in South Delhi has been confirmed as the first pickup and drop hub, with additional locations planned to come online in the coming months.
Shivam Sisodiya, CEO & Co‑Founder of Bijliride, said: “Delhi represents both a challenge and an opportunity for electric mobility. With rising congestion, pollution and the cost of vehicle ownership, there is a clear need for shared, affordable and clean commuting options. Our B2C launch in Delhi is designed to give everyday commuters easy access to electric two‑wheelers without the burden of ownership.”
Why Delhi?
Delhi was chosen as the first city for Bijliride’s B2C expansion due to:
- High two‑wheeler usage and commuter density
- Supportive EV ecosystem
- Urgent need for cleaner transport options amid pollution and traffic
- Large population of students, gig workers and young professionals preferring flexible mobility
Service Features and Fleet Deployment
In the initial phase, Bijliride will deploy 150–200 newly procured electric two‑wheelers dedicated to Delhi operations. This fleet has been curated using learnings from its Hyderabad operations and is designed for:
- Reliable range and battery performance
- Rider comfort
- Minimal downtime for dependable commuting
Bookings and payments will be entirely app‑based through the Bijliride mobile application on the Google Play Store. The service offers:
- Weekly and monthly rental plans
- Battery support and swapping assistance
- 24×7 roadside and breakdown support
Pricing and Accessibility
Indicative pricing for electric two‑wheelers under a battery‑swapping model is expected to start at approximately ₹220 per day, while monthly plans are structured to remain significantly more affordable than the total cost of owning a two‑wheeler.
By focusing on ease of use, cost effectiveness and sustainability, Bijliride aims to make daily electric commuting a practical and preferred choice for Delhi’s urban travellers.
