CATL has opened its largest NING SERVICE centre outside Asia in Oslo, Norway, expanding its battery lifecycle service network across Europe. The centre was inaugurated on September 24, 2026, and will serve customers in Norway and the wider Nordic region.
The 8,000-square-metre facility will provide battery services, train local technicians and support circular economy initiatives across the region. The centre has been established in Norway as demand for battery diagnostics, repair and life-extension services increases alongside the growth and ageing of the country’s electric vehicle fleet.
Full-Lifecycle Battery Services
NING SERVICE provides services covering the full battery lifecycle, including testing, maintenance, repair, insurance, second-life applications and recycling. Its service portfolio covers batteries used in transport, energy storage and robotics.
The service network is focused on repairing batteries rather than replacing complete battery packs. According to CATL, NING SERVICE has reduced the turnaround time for complex repairs from 72 hours to 48 hours.
Its deep-repair capabilities cover 76.8% of EV models, while CATL’s production-line quality standards are applied to repair operations. The Intelligent Eagle Eye System, deployed across more than 150 repair facilities, provides battery repair traceability and quality control.
The Oslo centre will also function as a brand experience facility and sales agent for emerging electric applications, including electric vessels, eVTOL aircraft and robotics. NING SERVICE already manages agency sales for CATL ecosystem partners, including AutoFlight and Galbot.
Focus on Battery Circularity
CATL’s NING SERVICE operations are also aimed at supporting battery circularity by extending battery service life and enabling the recovery of battery materials for reuse.
The company has launched the Global Energy Circularity Commitment (GECC) in strategic partnership with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. Through NING SERVICE, CATL is developing an aftermarket ecosystem designed to keep batteries in use for longer and return recovered materials into battery production.
The Oslo centre will also create skilled green jobs and serve as NING SERVICE’s main training hub for the Nordic region. CATL said its European training network covers 39 countries, supported by a team of 14 experienced instructors.
The centre will provide CATL-certified courses and practical training for local technicians. NING SERVICE also plans to strengthen cooperation with Norwegian universities and technical institutions to develop local battery service expertise.
Expanding European Battery Service Network
The Norway facility forms part of CATL’s broader expansion of local battery service infrastructure and ecosystem partnerships. The centre will serve as a hub within NING SERVICE’s European network, bringing battery lifecycle services closer to customers across the Nordic region.
According to NING SERVICE, its network currently operates 1,394 service locations across 85 countries and regions. The company plans to expand its presence to 100 countries and regions by 2027 and reach 10,000 service locations by 2030.
