Elements Green has announced the acquisition of the Bolney Green Energy Hub from Envirotech Energy Solutions, following the successful signing of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA). The acquisition marks a major milestone in Elements Green’s expansion in the UK renewable energy sector, giving the company full ownership of the West Sussex development.
The Bolney Green Energy Hub, located near Wineham, is a 148.8 MW battery energy storage system (BESS) with a 4-hour duration. The project received planning approval from Mid-Sussex District Council in September 2024 and is scheduled to be fully operational by Q4 2027.
Legal and technical advisory support was provided to both parties, with Bird & Bird advising Elements Green on legal matters and Everoze handling technical due diligence. Envirotech Energy Solutions were advised by Fladgate on legal matters and Savills Earth Capital on technical issues.
Strategic Expansion and Market Impact
This acquisition strengthens Elements Green’s growing fleet of energy storage assets. By purchasing the project in its entirety, the company aims to leverage its global development expertise to guide the Bolney Green Energy Hub through construction and operation, ensuring the site delivers maximum benefits to the UK’s national grid.
The deal follows the recent financial close of the 360 MW Staythorpe BESS project in Nottinghamshire, further cementing Elements Green’s reputation as a leader in large-scale energy infrastructure.
