RoadGrid, an Indian electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure startup, has successfully raised ₹12 crore in a pre-Series A funding round led by early-stage investor Venture Catalysts, the company said on Wednesday. The round also saw participation from a group of strategic and angel investors, including Kamal Puri of Skyline Group, Inflection Point Ventures (IPV), FAAD Network, LetsVenture, Vrinda Goyal of Pace Group, Haresh Patel of Arthanomics, and Maneesh Shrivastav of Alpha Value.
The fresh capital will be used to scale up charger manufacturing, expand software capabilities, and accelerate the nationwide rollout of charging stations to support India’s rapidly growing EV ecosystem. RoadGrid develops patented universal EV chargers designed to work across vehicle categories including two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and four-wheelers and is building a cloud-based software platform to manage and enhance the charging experience.
RoadGrid operates in two main business segments. The first focuses on manufacturing and supplying EV chargers to original equipment manufacturers and utilities. The second involves setting up and operating public and commercial charging stations across key locations, helping improve charging access for EV users.
The company already has active deployments in cities such as Indore and Noida, along with sites at select Indian Oil Corporation locations, and reports a confirmed pipeline of more than 1,000 chargers. This strong order book reflects growing demand from EV manufacturers, fleet operators, and infrastructure partners.
“India’s EV transition is at an inflection point, and charging infrastructure will be the backbone of this transformation,” said Dr. Apoorva Ranjan Sharma, Founder and Managing Partner of Venture Catalysts.
He added that RoadGrid’s combination of deep-tech hardware, scalable software, and on-ground execution addresses a significant market gap across vehicle categories.
RoadGrid’s founder and CEO, Deepesh Shrinath, described the funding as “a strong vote of confidence in RoadGrid’s technology and execution. With our VC partners, we will be scaling universal EV charging infrastructure that can become foundational to India’s EV ecosystem.”
With India’s EV market poised for rapid growth and projections indicating the need for millions of charging stations by 2030, this infusion of capital positions RoadGrid to play a key role in building the country’s EV charging backbone.
