The IDCO Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar hosted the first Global Cleantech Expo-Odisha. This was a big step toward India reaching its net zero goals. Gokulananda Mallik, the Chief Guest and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the MSME Department of the Government of Odisha, opened the two-day summit.
Addressing the gathering, Gokulananda Mallik, the Chief Guest and Minister of State (Independent Charge) for the MSME Department of the Government of Odisha stated, “Odisha is actively supporting MSMEs through subsidies, credit guarantees, and policy incentives to accelerate clean energy adoption. We want every home to be solarised, noting that nearly 5,000 MSMEs are already engaged in the clean energy ecosystem across the state.”
He further noted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India is emerging as a global cleantech hub. He highlighted that initiatives such as Startup India and supportive climate policies are encouraging entrepreneurs to innovate in clean energy, enabling MSMEs to scale green solutions and contribute to national climate and economic goals.
The minister also stressed the urgency of clean energy transition to address climate change. He reaffirmed the government’s environmental commitment through its “5J” vision – Jal, Jungle, Jami, Jiba Jantu, and Jana Sadharan aimed at balancing development with ecological conservation.
Strong Industry Participation and Global Presence
The expo saw participation from over 200 companies representing more than 20 countries, including Australia, Germany, France and the United States. The event is considered the first large-scale cleantech exhibition of its kind in Eastern India.
The summit opened with welcome remarks by Debi Prasad Dash, Executive Director of the NetZero Energy Transition Association (NETRA). Several industry leaders addressed the gathering, including Amlan Kanti Das of Luminous Power Technologies.

This platform is catalysing investment, partnerships, and technology transfer for a sustainable future.”
Amlan Kanti Das of Luminous Power Technologies stated, “Odisha contributes 40 to 59 per cent of India’s mineral volume, making it a strategic hub for Luminous to drive global leadership in energy storage. With 30 acres of land in Odisha and access to critical minerals, we are accelerating innovation in advanced energy storage solutions.”
The expo also featured conferences, CXO roundtables, B2B sessions and specialised pavilions showcasing advanced clean energy technologies, positioning Odisha and Eastern India as emerging clean energy investment destinations.
