    GM Expands EV Fast Charging with Tesla Supercharger Access

    GM Expands EV Fast Charging with Tesla Supercharger Access

    More than 17,800 Tesla Superchargers are now available to General Motors customers in North America, which is a significant advancement in the EV charging infrastructure. GM EV users will now have quick, easy access to charging with a GM-approved NACS DC converter, hastening the shift to an entirely electric vehicle.

    With this accomplishment, GM customers now have access to approximately 231,800 public chargers, including Level 2 and DC fast chargers. As GM continues to extend its charging relationships in strategic locations and travel corridors, more growth is anticipated. consumers in the United States will be able to access the Tesla Supercharger Network first; access to Canadian consumers is scheduled for later this year.

    “GM’s ongoing efforts to help accelerate the expansion of public charging infrastructure is an integral part of our commitment to an all-electric future,” said Wade Sheffer, vice president of GM Energy. “Enabling access to even more publicly available fast chargers represents yet another way GM is focused on further improving the customer experience and making the transition to electric more seamless.”

    The $225 USD MSRP of GM’s NACS DC adapters will be accessible for purchase through the GM car brand mobile apps. Customers will be able to easily manage payments, find Tesla Superchargers, initiate charging sessions, and monitor station status with these apps.

    GM seeks to collaborate with several suppliers to manufacture NACS DC converters in order to satisfy the expected demand. This would guarantee GM EVs’ dependable interoperability with Tesla Superchargers and other charging stations that use the North American Charging Standard (NACS).
