Green Water & Power (GWP), a US-based clean-energy infrastructure provider, has partnered with Goodwill Southern California (Goodwill SoCal) to offer on-the-job training opportunities in electrical trades, aiming to develop workforce skills and create employment pathways in the electrical and clean-energy sectors.
The initiative, supported through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), is designed to help individuals with limited or no prior work experience gain practical skills and access employment opportunities. The programme will provide hands-on training in electrical trades, equipping participants with industry-relevant experience that could lead to long-term employment with GWP or other career opportunities in the sector.
The programme is open to qualified candidates who are currently unemployed or working fewer than 20 hours per week. Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States, provide proof of residence in Los Angeles County and meet other specified eligibility requirements. Male applicants must also have registered with the Selective Service.
Through the collaboration, GWP aims to access a pool of motivated candidates while providing participants with practical workplace experience and the opportunity to develop marketable technical skills.
“At GWP, we believe in empowering our community by making access to skilled trades training more inclusive,” said Christine Karlovic, Vice President at Green Water & Power. She added that the partnership would help individuals gain the tools and experience required to build careers with the company or elsewhere in the industry.
Shelah C. Potter, Associate Director of Youth Programs & Resource Centers at Goodwill Southern California, said the programme is intended to reduce employment barriers and create a supportive pathway for individuals to enter the workforce and acquire in-demand skills.
Green Water & Power provides clean-energy infrastructure solutions, including electric vehicle charging, battery storage and solar energy systems. The company manages projects across design, permitting, construction, commissioning, operations and maintenance. It has installed more than 15,000 EV chargers across the United States and has a solar portfolio exceeding 4 MW.
The partnership comes amid the expansion of clean-energy infrastructure, which is creating demand for workers with electrical and technical skills. By combining practical training with potential employment opportunities, the initiative seeks to strengthen access to skilled trades and support workforce development across the electrical infrastructure industry.
