The 10th Indo-German Green and Sustainable Development Partnership (GSDP) Conversation Series, themed “Energy Security through Renewable Energies,” brought together experts, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to discuss strategies for strengthening energy security through renewable energy development.

Delivering the vote of thanks at the event, Mr. Gottfried von Gemmingen, Minister Counsellor and Head of Economic Cooperation & Development at the German Embassy, New Delhi, expressed his appreciation to the distinguished speakers and panellists for their valuable insights and contributions to the discussion.

Reflecting on the key themes emerging from the conversation, Mr. von Gemmingen highlighted that participants recognised the importance of combining market-driven solutions with effective government support to accelerate the renewable energy transition. The discussions underlined that a successful clean energy transformation requires cooperation between the public and private sectors, supported by strong policy frameworks and investment-friendly environments.

The panellists emphasised the need to strengthen domestic renewable energy manufacturing capabilities while supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to participate more actively in the clean energy ecosystem. Expanding local production capacities, improving supply chains, and encouraging innovation were identified as important steps toward enhancing energy independence.

The dialogue also highlighted the critical role of skill development, research and development (R&D), and technological innovation in supporting the future growth of renewable energy sectors. Developing a skilled workforce and promoting new technologies were recognised as essential components for achieving long-term sustainability goals.

The conversation reflected the shared commitment of India and Germany toward advancing renewable energy cooperation and addressing challenges related to energy security, climate change, and sustainable development.

The Indo-German GSDP platform continues to provide opportunities for both nations to exchange knowledge, explore innovative solutions, and strengthen partnerships across clean energy and sustainability sectors. With renewable energy becoming increasingly important in global energy strategies, collaborative efforts between countries are expected to play a key role in building resilient, affordable, and sustainable energy systems.
