Indian Green & Battery Stocks Roundup – August 21

Battery and green energy counters saw a largely upbeat session on August 21, 2025, with several stocks posting healthy gains, led by CLN Energy Ltd and Waaree Technologies. Investor confidence in energy transition themes remained strong, with storage and clean-tech players continuing to attract traction.

CLN Energy Ltd led the field today gaining 1.99% to ₹534.45, while Waaree Technologies followed closely behind, adding 1.98% to ₹298; both signalled solid buying interest in solar-linked storage. High Energy Batteries also did well, closing the day at ₹636 (+1.86%) indicating a continuation of fresh appetite for niche battery innovators.

Exide Industries, an established name, managed to gain 1.05% to ₹400.45 and Eveready Industries India Ltd had added 0.92% to ₹442.8 close. HBL Engineering Ltd, closed slightly higher too at ₹796.5 (+0.57%), thanks to consistent investor participation. Amara Raja Energy, one of the leading firms in terms of capacity in the sector, added a small 0.21% to ₹990.3 consolidating further below the ₹1,000 price point.

Conversely, a small cohort traded marginally lower – Indo-National Ltd down 0.13% to ₹478.05; Panasonic Energy India Ltd declined 0.22% to ₹343.1 and Tata Power, as a bellwether for the clean energy ecosystem, seeing it’s share price decline by a small (0.64%) to ₹388.05, as investors took profits following recent advances.

Analysts noted that the sentiment surrounding the remainder of the sector remains clearly positive prompted by an accelerating battery storage capacity, electric mobility and renewable integrations being led in India. The mixed price movement of a few counters is justified, and purely a market adjustment issue than any underlying loss of fundamentals.
