Indian Green & Battery Stocks Roundup – September 29

Battery stocks traded on mixed cues this July 21, as the market responded to shifting energy demand, policy momentum, and earnings projections. While a few frontline counters like Amara Raja Energy and Waaree Technologies posted strong gains, others like CLN Energy Ltd. and High Energy Batteries saw declines, reflecting a cautious yet dynamic mood across the green energy segment.

Waaree Technologies led the rally with an impressive 5.00% surge to ₹360.3, driven by strong sentiment around solar-storage hybrid plays amid expected policy clarity on domestic module procurement. Amara Raja Energy followed with a 2.72% gain, closing at ₹1003, as investor interest remained firm ahead of its battery gigafactory plans.

Other gainers included Eveready Industries India Ltd. (+1.67%) and Exide Industries (+1.31%), both buoyed by their expanding presence in advanced chemistry cell (ACC) and smart energy verticals. Indo-National Ltd. also rose modestly by 0.54%, reflecting stable performance in consumer battery markets.

On the flip side, CLN Energy Ltd. and High Energy Batteries each declined by 2.00%, as investors turned cautious over project execution risks and defense procurement delays. Panasonic Energy India, Tata Power, and HBL Engineering Ltd. also ended lower, slipping between -0.98% and -1.48%, tracking broader weakness in power utility and legacy battery stocks.

Battery-focused firms continue to capture attention amid India’s accelerating shift toward clean mobility and decentralized storage. Despite near-term volatility, long-term optimism remains anchored in the government’s green tech vision.
